The Science of Why Our Thoughts Shape Our Behaviour

Tony Jeton Selimi

When the popular movie The Secret was released, a paradigm shift happened. For some people this was only a myth that had no scientific or real life proof, and for others this movie started a whole chain of events that led to massive breakthroughs that shaped and changed their lives forever.

I love that science is now catching up with what the wisest, most successful and happiest among us have known for years: the words we speak shape our thinking, mold our behavior and construct our beliefs.

Neuroscientists are discovering that the pre-frontal cortex (the area of the brain responsible for higher thinking such as creating bold dreams) is connected to the part responsible for our motor activities.

In other words, the quality of the words we think and speak have striking power to influence and elevate our actions.

Every day, from people I coach, from friends, from people on the streets, I hear so many people using the language of victims. Its all about how they cant get fit or strong or that they cant become more productive or that they cant do what needs to be done to create a life they adore

And, of course, what they speak about comes about. And their languaging becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy

But there are three words that will have an almost magical effect on your life once you start using them

Yes I CAN.

When you learn a new idea to raise your confidence, say Yes, I can make this my new normal with a little focus and practice.

When someone offers you an opportunity to improve your performance, say Yes, I can get this done swiftly and excellently.

When you face a fear or confront a challenge, say Yes, I can turn this into a gift and see this as a blessing.

Related to the words you speak are the things you focus on. We dont really see the world the way it is, we see the world as WE are through the personal lens of our most intimate beliefs.

Look for good and youll find it. Thats just the way the brain works.

Hunt for success, and youll get it. Its not a mystical process. Its just that the brain cant focus on a million bits of stimuli at once so it selects out what youve taught it to think is unimportant.

In my personal entrepreneurial journey I learned that its not what I did that brought things into my life, it was the the better I was feeling the more I was allowing flow into my life.

On that note, create a new daily habit to start to feel the things you wish to have and create in your life. Take steps towards creating those things you feel most for and before you know it you will see and feel the power of Yes I Can.

Take this challenge and I invite you to create your own experience. Write down all the things you wish to create that you may feel you cant. Once you have completed the list write down next to each sentence Yes I can and list 200 benefits why you should have and create those things. In time you will experience the magic of the universe deliver you exactly that.

You can learn more on how to do this daily using TJS Evolutionary Method that i talk about in my recent book, A Path to Wisdom. To get your copy please visit www.apathtowisdom.com

How long does it take to complete KPI?

The programme is built around a 12-month foundation year. This is the time it takes to build your full authority ecosystem. From there, many clients continue to compound their results year on year. Within 24 hours of joining, you'll get full access to the KPI platform. In your first week, you'll attend a group onboarding session where you'll learn how to navigate the platform, access your resources, subscribe to our event calendars, and book into your first Value Canvas Kickoff.

How long has Dent been doing this?

Over 5,500 businesses across 60+ industries in EMEA, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific have gone through our accelerators.

What is your mission?

Our mission is to produce Key People of Influence who stand out, scale up, and make an impact in the world.

What makes this different from programmes?

The biggest difference is that KPI is a production environment, not a course. You don't watch videos and hope something sticks. You build 15-17 real assets of influence — your book, your scorecard, your productised offer, your lead generation system — in structured 10-day sprints with live coaching. Every asset goes to market as you build it. Real feedback, real results, real revenue impact. And you're doing it alongside 5,500+ founders who've been through the same methodology.

Is Daniel Priestley involved in the programme?

Yes! Daniel is our CEO and Cofounder. He is one of the key minds behind every aspect of the KPI Accelerator. He occasionally runs workshops himself.
