5 Key Steps to Protecting Your Memory

Grace E Olugbodi

Ever wished that your memory and thinking was a little clearer and stronger? Supporting your brain, one of the biggest and most important organs in your body, is the first step to achieving this.

Brain Health is a very key part of your overall health and I am sure you have heard the old saying health is wealth. Protecting your brain and memory is one of the most important favours you can do yourself, and teaching and educating your loved ones and family will also go a long way in helping them too to protect their memory over time.

Major diseases that could affect the brain include Alzheimers, Dementia and Parkinsons.

Alzheimers is a type of dementia, a disease of which usually occurs when nerves in the brain start degenerating. Statistics show that there are about 35 million people with Alzheimers worldwide a terrifying truth and one that shows we need to be acting fast to ensure ourselves and our future generations are not affected.

Of course, prevention is always better than cure and here I have some really simple, workable steps you can take to greatly reduce your chances of ending up with a brain disease.

  1. Reduce bad fats from your diet These are saturated fats and trans fats that you should replace with good fats instead. For example, replace cows milk with good fat milk such as almond milk. Hazelnuts and walnuts also contain good fats for the brain and consuming more of those will help your brain and memory.

  2. Do physical exercise Exercise increases the blood flow to the brain and gets your heart pumping faster which makes your thinking clearer and will contribute to a sharper memory. Just walking 20 to 30 minutes a day is a good start.

  3. Do mental exercises Things that work your brain, like games that involve thinking, can really help in making it stronger. Try sudoku, maths games, chess games, helping the kids with their maths homework for example.

  4. Resting Its vital that you get enough sleep and rest so that your brain muscles can recharge and work better when next required to.

  5. Cut down on alcohol consumption It has been proven that there is a link between excessive alcohol consumption and brain disorders, so cutting down on the bubbles is a pretty crucial action to take.

Having a great memory is something everyone deserves to have, and to keep. You dont have to make drastic changes to your lifestyle either, as gradual changes help you to turn important alterations into habits and change your lifestyle in a practical manner thats sustainable.

How long does it take to complete KPI?

The programme is built around a 12-month foundation year. This is the time it takes to build your full authority ecosystem. From there, many clients continue to compound their results year on year. Within 24 hours of joining, you'll get full access to the KPI platform. In your first week, you'll attend a group onboarding session where you'll learn how to navigate the platform, access your resources, subscribe to our event calendars, and book into your first Value Canvas Kickoff.

How long has Dent been doing this?

Over 5,500 businesses across 60+ industries in EMEA, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific have gone through our accelerators.

What is your mission?

Our mission is to produce Key People of Influence who stand out, scale up, and make an impact in the world.

What makes this different from programmes?

The biggest difference is that KPI is a production environment, not a course. You don't watch videos and hope something sticks. You build 15-17 real assets of influence — your book, your scorecard, your productised offer, your lead generation system — in structured 10-day sprints with live coaching. Every asset goes to market as you build it. Real feedback, real results, real revenue impact. And you're doing it alongside 5,500+ founders who've been through the same methodology.

Is Daniel Priestley involved in the programme?

Yes! Daniel is our CEO and Cofounder. He is one of the key minds behind every aspect of the KPI Accelerator. He occasionally runs workshops himself.
